	Iona Abbey August 9-15, 2008        The Abbey cloisters - almost all a modern reconstruction
	with some fine modern carvings around
	Only a couple of the original pillars were usable in the reconsruction
	The interior of the Catholic Michael Chapel at the rear of the Abbey
	The green-veined Iona marble in the pillars of the font in the abbey church
	Iona marble in the high altar of the Abbey Church
			The effigies of the 8th Duke and Duchess of Argyll - she is buried here and he started the restoration of the abbey, and gave it and the surrounding area to the Church of Scotland in 1899.
			Old stone carving with some modern replacement in the Abbey Church
